Secret Scripture, Main Titles (Alternate)

An alternate version that was considered for the film which included a reference to the main character Rose's handwritten notes in the gutter of her bible, the only medium through which her story was told. I loved the contrast between the stern classical typography, the weight of lead type almost representative of the powerful forces of the state and church being overwritten and contrasted with the rebellious, organic nature of the human hand.

Ultimately we dropped the effect from the final titles and went simply for the typeset elements (we felt it was a bit distracting, the right call for the film I think) but I quite enjoyed the exercise so thought I'd share anyway.
